Hampshire mosque director Busha Fouz was raised in America with traditional Islamic values, and has always been proud to share those values with the community.
Even before 9/11, Bushra was busy trying to teach non-Muslims the meaning of Islamic tolerance. Schools or other community groups can contact Hampshire mosque to see if she can visit to read her poetry and teach our children about Islamic tolerance.
In November 2001, newly encouraged by Osama Bin Laden’s attack and mistaking America’s shock for weakness, she organized with other Arab bullies and Islamists at the University of Massachusetts to try to redefine Palestinian terrorists as normal people with a legitimate cause.
Tension was already high as Mohammed began to read. There were visible reactions among members of the audience to lines such as “we now, the new Wandering Jew,” in reference to Palestinian refugees. Finally, before her selection “Liberation from a Freedom Fighter,” Mohammed said to the audience, “I want you all to keep in mind that I am a poet. I write from my heart. You want objectivity? Go home and watch CNN.”
Even this statement was met with debate. “CNN isn’t objective!” an unidentified audience member yelled back.
“Well, then, if you want to hear what you want to hear watch CNN,” Mohammed replied. “Maybe you can be rocked to sleep by their lulla-lies.”
Busha became a mosque director in November 2010, at which time Chaplain Abdelaal’s name was no longer listed – perhaps he has returned to Egypt to help promote the Muslim Brotherhood’s new democracy.
ZIONIST HUNGER – By Bushra Fouz Mohammad
I am writing in an effort to submit my work to your publishing company. I am a 25 year old woman, born and raised in Massachusetts, of Palestinian refugees. My work reflects my identity as a Palestinian.
Here is a sample of my work, a poem, in response to the Israeli brutality against my people. Your response and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Bushra Fouz Mohammad
Zionist HUNGER
Don’t wanna give you need to feed
your greed in the vast pit of hungry dogs
so you can strip me of every skin and bone
punish me for throwing a holy stone at your iron face in a place where rubber and steal prevail against rock hail
where murders like Sharon can shake blood-dripping hands with the Shaytan
while the angels of Palestine fall and bleed
I don’t see the need
Don’t wanna give you the incentive to say your murderous actions were merely defensive in the name of your violence in the name of my silence in the name of holy hypocrisy
Your bullets may have wounded me in the eye but I can still see from high up in my olive tree
The land of milk and honey, burning, and the rape of Palestine still hasn’t been called an atrocity
The holy land has been besieged by the hand that refuses to feed the mouths of those who long before planted the seed of folkdancing dreams and peace out of the thorn of a cactus leaf
Don’t see the need for Palestine to continue to bleed
Is your mouth still watering in greed-drentched hunger?
Is it violence you quench? Palestine you seek to sunder?
Chewing on each martyrs bones as their souls fall from your mouth onto the ancient cobblestones
I don’t see the need to feed your greed when deep in the pit of your fat Zionist belly Palestine has been eaten Alive!
