Chaplain Mohammed Abdelaal – Amherst College – Hampshire Mosque – Sunna – Sharia

Muslim students at Amherst College who need spiritual guidance can consult with Chaplain Mohammed Abdelaal for suggestions on how to maintain an appropriate Islamic lifestyle while living amongst the many distractions of our Western Civilization.

A native Egyptian, Mr. Abdelaal  earned a B.Arch. in 2001 from the Boston Architectural College.  After 9/11 a renewed “interest in Islam and its principles” compelled him to devote his efforts to the Islamic cause and the “Sunnah of Mohammed. ”

In furtherance of this struggle, Mr. Abdelaal co-founded ‘Hampshire Mosque Incorporated‘ in 2004 with Wajih Elsallal, a Syrian born engineer educated in Saudi Arabia.

Mission Statement of Hampshire Mosque Incorporated

The goal of the corporation, according to the Mission Statement, is furtherance of Islam (i.e. Submission to Allah) according to the Methodology or Sunnah of Mohammed.

Methodology or Sunnah of Mohammed

There are many countries in the world today that practice the Methodology or Sunnah of Mohammed.  Although they differ greatly in the way his ‘methods’ are put into practice they all try to follow, to the best of their ability, the Sunnah, the perfect example set by their Prophet.
