Of course not! The UMass Amherst Daily Collegian does not even mention, nor does anyone in the community particularly care , what religion she is; but her recent article, “Planned Parenthood Can’t Help a Sick Society,” is in complete agreement with what all Islamic authorities teach – that a woman who dresses immodestly is like ‘uncovered meat’ and shares responsibility if she were abducted.
Islamaphobia at the Daily Collegian?
Whether or not Yevgeniya Lomakina is English, Irish, or Muslimish does not matter, because she was only utilizing her right of free speech. Did the Daily Collegian fire her simply because the ideas that she expressed in the article are in complete agreement with the teachings of the Prophet of Islam?
Why should Yevgeniya be denied the right to express her opinion? There are undoubtedly many other local community members who agree with her.
Tahir Square in Amherst
Perhaps Yevgeniya was over-encouraged by the recent Amherst celebration of the Tahir Square ‘interview’ with Lara Logan and the “commemorative sign” posted at Amherst College.
Dr. Hazratji of the Islamic Society of Western Massachusetts would like to thank you all for your support.
Salams,
A nice post to read, thank you. As muslims we must remember that Islam teaches us many different qualities and aspects of our lives, but that we must also work to improve ourselves. A small change in ourselves can lead to a big change if others appreciate our efforts and follow.
Many Thanks.
Wasalam.
Sounds more like a Ruskie to me.
