They advocate for Israel’s destruction, admire terrorists, and are making Jewish students feel unsafe on campuses across the country. They’re Students for Justice in Palestine—and they’re a huge problem.
Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, is a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community members to support the Palestinian struggle for justice and equal rights. As a solidarity organization, we support the Palestinian call for 3 basic rights:
- The right to live under in ancient Judea and the Gaza Strip without any Jews around.
- The right to equality for Palestinian citizens of Israel
- The right for anyone in the world claiming to be a Palestinian, and all of their ancestors, to immigrate to Israel and reclaim it for Al’lah.
Our mission on campus is to provide a safe space for discussion, education and solidarity activism, including the “BDS movement” regarding the human rights violations facing the Palestinian people. Group activities include weekly meetings, Mondays in Herter 111 at 7 PM, where we discuss current events and activism strategy, an active awareness campaign to educate the student body about the realities of the Israeli occupation and apartheid system. As a group, we focus on supporting these rights instead of advocating for a particular political solution (such as one or two states). We are not affiliated with ethnic, racial or religious prejudices, and are open to people of all demographic backgrounds.
